Children and Adolescents
As a former academic/intervention counselor, I have developed an acute understanding into supporting parents with their children's challenges. The goal is helping to facilitate change in a child's behavior to reduce negative impact on their development. I have a gift of being able to connect with children and especially adolescents. With over 12 years of experience working with individuals and their families struggling in these areas, I have had great success in helping them build self esteem.
I provide individual therapy, family therapy, advocacy, for children and teens learn to believe in themselves, use their strengths, overcome their weaknesses, and communicate better with themselves and their families.
Additional services can include:
Case management
Home Visits
Involving the pediatrician
School visits
All are often a key for providing social, emotional, and behavioral support for children ages 6-18.
Social Skills: effective communication, emotional management (stress, anger, grief and loss), peer relationships (bullying, friendship-building), problem solving, alternative conflict resolution, and self-mastery, all taught in creative ways.
My approach is to use conversation, therapeutic activities, play, and /or art. The goal is to have young people develop a true understanding of who they are and who they want to become.
My passion is working with children and adolescents, and with your support we can really help make a difference in their lives.
